United Community Financial's shareholders OK amendment to articles of incorporation

stockholders at their annual meeting held April 28 approved the amendment tothe Youngstown, Ohio-based company's articles of incorporation.

Theamendment changes the voting requirement for matters presented to shareholdersfrom a majority of the shares outstanding requirement to a majority of thevotes cast requirement.

It received28,941,773 votes in favor and 2,411,116 against. There were 127,753 abstentionsand 7,687,378 broker non-votes.
