Bob Mansfield, a senior executive of who helped unveil many ofthe company's signature products, is now overseeing its self-driving, electriccar project, The Wall Street Journal reported July25, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
Mansfield joined the company in 1999 and stepped back from aregular role at the company a few years ago after serving as the head of the hardwareengineering development of products, according to the report. He has sincereportedly worked on special products with the company, like the AppleWatch which wasreleased last year.
The previous head of Project Titan, Steve Zadesky,reportedly left thecompany earlier this year for personal reasons.
