Taiho Kogyo Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 came to ¥30.51 per share, a gain of 33.1% from ¥22.93 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥875.4 million, a gain of 33.4% from ¥656.4 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 3.5% from 2.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew year over year to ¥25.25 billion from ¥24.74 billion, and total operating expenses climbed on an annual basis to ¥23.97 billion from ¥23.68 billion.
Reported net income rose 37.3% on an annual basis to ¥958.0 million, or ¥33.39 per share, from ¥697.5 million, or ¥24.37 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥108.61 per share, an increase of 14.4% from ¥94.98 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥3.11 billion, a rise of 14.7% from ¥2.71 billion in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue rose from the prior-year period to ¥98.22 billion from ¥93.63 billion, and total operating expenses rose on an annual basis to ¥93.55 billion from ¥89.47 billion.
The company said reported net income rose 14.2% on an annual basis to ¥3.19 billion, or ¥111.44 per share, in the full year, from ¥2.80 billion, or ¥97.84 per share.
