Armenian central bank holds key rate at 6%

The Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia on Aug. 14 kept its key refinancing rate unchanged at 6%.

Consumer prices in Armenia fell 1.2% month over month in July, but were up 2.3% in annual terms, Reuters reported.

The central bank expects the inflation rate to be in the "lower range of permissible fluctuations" and stabilize at 4% by the end of the forecast horizon, Arka News Agency reported.

The central bank also said that while its financial market is not facing any significant impact from ongoing global trade disputes, it will respond accordingly should risks emerge.
