Aug. 9

D.A. Davidson & Co. hired Peter Raphael as senior vice president and managing director for the public finance team in Chicago. Raphael previously worked with William Blair & Co. LLC.


National Securities Corp. named Jeffrey Sacher a senior managing director of OPN Capital Markets, National Securities' healthcare investment banking division. Additionally, Gregory Kouvelas joined the company as a senior managing director of technology investment banking. Both previously worked at various firms in senior banker roles.

Aug. 8

Morgan Stanley brokers Paul Roche III and Christopher Bayles, and two associates Jennifer Reardon and Yuri Dagan have joined Royal Bank of Canada unit RBC Wealth Management, AdvisorHub reported. Separately, broker Allen Smith joined the company from Hilltop Securities Inc.


Behzad Mansouri, managing director and institutional sales manager of the government agency and municipal entity business, will lead Oppenheimer & Co. Inc.'s newly formed institutional fixed-income services team.


Daniel Nolan, Piyush Phadke and Romeo Reyes have joined BTIG LLC's debt capital markets and fixed-income credit divisions from Jefferies.


Oppenheimer Holdings Inc. unit Oppenheimer Europe Ltd. named Christian Luding managing director and European head of healthcare investment banking. Luding has previously worked at UBS, Lazard and Nomura.

Aug. 7

Raymond James & Associates Inc. added adviser Rosa Ebling from Baird, AdvisorHub reported.


Internet analyst Ken Sena joined Wells Fargo & Co. unit Wells Fargo Securities LLC's global research, economics and strategy division as managing director and head of internet equity research. Sena most recently worked with Evercore ISI.


Hennion & Walsh Inc. added John Browning as a senior vice president in its SmartTrust unit investment trust business. Browning has earlier worked at Nuveen Securities LLC and Incapital LLC.


CUNA Mutual Group hired Rob Comfort as president of CUNA Brokerage Services Inc. and Martin Powell as vice president of strategic account development and management for the company's wealth management business. Comfort joined from LPL Financial and Powell from Lincoln Financial Group. CUNA Mutual Group is the marketing name for CUNA Mutual Holding Co.


A former founding member of Morgan Stanley's Graystone business, Phil Shaffer, has set up an investment advisory firm in Columbus, Ohio, according to AdvisorHub. He left Graystone in June.

Aug. 3

Financial advisers Keith Bock, Mark Downey II and Jason Peterson joined Raymond James Financial Inc.'s Raymond James & Associates' Rochester, N.Y., office. The team, which joined from Wells Fargo, is joined by senior registered client service associate Janet Emhof.


Standard Chartered Plc's Standard Chartered Bank named Jens Andersen and Molly Duffy co-heads of financial markets in the Americas. Andersen joined from Element Capital and Duffy from Credit Suisse Group AG.


Anne-Marie Peterson joined Baird's global investment banking business as a managing director on its global debt advisory team. Peterson most recently worked with KeyCorp unit KeyBanc Capital Markets Inc. Baird's principal operating subsidiaries are Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc. in the U.S. and Robert W. Baird Group Ltd. in Europe.
