Comedy Central(US)'s long-time president, Michele Ganeless, will step down from herposition at the end of May.
Ganeless will be replaced by President of Original ProgrammingKent Alterman, effective immediately, the ViacomInc.-owned network said May 10. Ganeless will serve as an adviser toViacom and Comedy Central through September.
Except for a three-year stint at USA (US) Network from 2001-2004, Ganeless has beenpart of Viacom since 1990. She rejoined Comedy Central in 2004 as general managerand was promoted to network president in 2007.
Additionally, Comedy Central promoted David Bernath to generalmanager from executive vice president of programming and multiplatform strategy.
