JCB partners with IDEMIA France to roll out Google Pay in Japan

Japanese credit card firm JCB Co. Ltd. has partnered with IDEMIA France SAS, a French company that develops and provides augmented identity services, to launch Google LLC's digital payment platform in Japan.

Local users can add their JCB credit, debit and prepaid cards in the Google Pay app on their payment-enabled phones, according to an Oct. 9 release.

JCB leverages on the JCB Tokenization Platform to enable the payment platform for its cardholders, with support from IDEMIA's digital payment offerings.
