China uncovers massive 19 million tonne lead-zinc deposit

China has made its largest local lead and zinc mine discovery in the far-western region of Xinjiang, Xinhua News Agency reported Sept. 25, citing the Xinjiang Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources.

The 6.6-square-kilometer deposit located in Hotan county was found in 2011, and hosts nearly 19 million tonnes of lead and zinc reserves.
