Atmos Energy Corp. on Aug. 2 reported adjusted net income of $70.8 million, or 67 cents per share, in the fiscal third quarter, up from $66.1 million, or 64 cents per share, a year earlier.
The S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate for the fiscal third quarter was 66 cents.
GAAP earnings were also $70.8 million, or 67 cents per share, down from $71.2 million, or 69 cents per share, in the year-ago quarter.
Operating income was $140.7 million, versus $128.4 million a year earlier. Atmos expects full-year adjusted earnings to be $3.55 to $3.63 per share.
"Our regulatory framework is paramount to our success in becoming the nation's safest utility," said Atmos CEO Kim Cocklin. "Timely recovery of our infrastructure investments provides for the efficient conversion of rate base growth to earnings growth."
