Yamaya fiscal Q3 profit climbs 21.0% YOY

Yamaya Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, was ¥97.59 per share, a gain of 21.0% from ¥80.64 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.06 billion, a gain of 21.0% from ¥874.4 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 2.3% from 2.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 35.4% on an annual basis to ¥45.49 billion from ¥33.61 billion, and total operating expenses rose 34.3% from the prior-year period to ¥43.27 billion from ¥32.21 billion.

Reported net income fell 10.2% on an annual basis to ¥901.0 million, or ¥83.10 per share, from ¥1.00 billion, or ¥92.50 per share.
