Goldstrike, Newmont plan up to 10,000-meter drill program at Plateau in 2018

Goldstrike Resources Ltd. and Newmont Mining Corp. are planning to undertake an up to 10,000-meter drill program at the Plateau gold property in Canada's Yukon Territory.

Goldstrike is preparing to officially hand over Plateau to Newmont under a deal signed in March, granting the latter an option to earn up to an 80% interest in the property.

The 2018 program is expected to be the largest and most extensive drill program in the Plateau property's history and is anticipated to exceed all historical drilling meters combined.

Newmont is seeking the Yukon government's approval for an expanded advanced exploration permit to facilitate the program, according to a Dec. 11 release.
