Deutsche Börse to take bigger stake in Tradegate

Deutsche Börse AG will increase its stake in Tradegate AG via an exercise of its third and final call option, subject to regulatory approvals.

The exercise will see the German stock exchange operator raise its stake in Tradegate, a securities trading bank, to almost 20% from 15%.

In 2010, Deutsche Börse acquired a 75% stake in Tradegate Exchange GmbH, a stock exchange operator specialized in executing retail investor orders, in which Tradegate AG operates as a specialist liquidity provider. Deutsche Börse simultaneously acquired a 5% stake in Tradegate AG, which it then increased to 15% in 2014.
