The release of the Trump administration's offshore drilling plan for 2019-2024 has been rescheduled to a unspecified date, the Houston Chronicle reported Dec. 12, citing a spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of the Interior.
The spokeswomen kept the reasons behind the delay undisclosed, according to the Houston Chronicle.
President Donald Trump previously signed an executive order to start the process of opening areas of the Arctic, Atlantic and Pacific oceans for oil and gas drilling. The order also directed Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke to review the 2016 orders of President Barack Obama limiting drilling to the western Gulf of Mexico.
The order was contested in court by environmental, conservation and Alaska Native groups.
