Kanseki Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 30, 2014, came to ¥10.05 per share, a gain from ¥1.10 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥74.4 million, an increase from ¥8.1 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 1.0% from 0.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed on an annual basis to ¥7.70 billion from ¥7.50 billion, and total operating expenses rose year over year to ¥7.51 billion from ¥7.40 billion.
Reported net income grew from the prior-year period to ¥52.0 million, or ¥7.03 per share, from ¥2.0 million, or 27 sen per share.
As of Jan. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.84.
