Mass. attorney general sends 2nd civil investigation demand to Credit Acceptance

Credit Acceptance Corp. on Nov. 20, 2017, received a second civil investigation demand from the Office of the Attorney General of Massachusetts.

The regulator is seeking updated information on its original civil investigation demand, dated Dec. 4, 2014, along with additional information related to the company's origination and collection of consumer loans and information regarding securitization activities, the company said.

Credit Acceptance said it is cooperating with the inquiry and cannot predict the eventual scope, duration or outcome. It is unable to estimate the reasonably possible loss arising from the investigation.
