Recurrent Energy signs power purchase agreement with Calif. metro-rail entity

Bay Area Rapid Transit signed a 20-year power purchase agreement for 45 MW of power from Recurrent Energy LLC's planned RE Gaskell West 2 solar project in Kern County, Calif.

Terms of the PPA were not disclosed. The Canadian Solar Inc subsidiary expects to energize the project in 2020.

The PPA is the result of a renewable energy procurement process launched by the metro-rail entity in May as part of its wholesale electricity portfolio policy to move to 100% renewable energy by 2045, according to a Dec. 7 press release.
