Allianz unit secures approval for equity stake in 184-MW Illinois wind facility

Allianz Renewable Energy Partners of America LLC has secured FERC approval to make a tax equity investment in EDF Renewable Energy's 184-MW Kelly Creek wind farm in Ford and Kankakee counties, Illinois.

Under the deal, the Allianz SE subsidiary will acquire 100% of the class A nonmanaging membership interests in the facility, according to a Dec. 12 FERC order.

The wind farm will sell its output into the PJM Interconnection LLC market and is expected to go online in December, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence data. EDF will continue to have day-to-day control over the facility. (FERC Docket EC17-30)
