Algold increases gold resources at Tijirit in Mauritania

Algold Resources Ltd. on Feb. 26 released an updated resource estimate for its Tijirit gold property in Mauritania, highlighting an increase for the Eleonore deposit.

Eleonore hosts 94,250 ounces of gold in the indicated category and 394,690 ounces of gold in the inferred category.

Combined with the Sophie and Lily deposits, measured and indicated resources at Tijirit total 3.2 million tonnes grading 1.64 g/t of gold for 169,450 ounces, with inferred resources estimated at 10.5 million tonnes grading 1.92 g/t of gold for 648,790 ounces.

The estimate used cutoffs of 0.4 g/t of gold for open pit material and 1.7 g/t of gold for underground material, except for Eleonore where a global cutoff of 1.5 g/t was used. The update also incorporates data from 50,000 meters of drilling completed by Algold from June 2016 to August 2017.

Algold also reported that further drilling is underway at Tijirit, aiming to better define the Salma deposit and additional exploration targets.
