VivendiSA unit StudioCanal requested Frenchexhibitors to stop showing the movie "Bastille Day" in theaters asFrance declared a three-day mourning period after a truck attack in Nice, Variety reported July 16.
StudioCanal has reportedly stopped running ads for themovie, which is about a terrorist attack in Paris. The movie starring IdrisElba was released on 244 screens on July 13.
Meanwhile, multiplex chain CGR accepted StudioCanal'srequest to pull the movie "out of respect," Jocelyn Bouyssy, thedirector of CGR, reportedly said in a statement.
