KU Holdings fiscal Q3 profit climbs 49.2% YOY

KU Holdings Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, was ¥24.71 per share, a gain of 48.4% from ¥16.65 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥786.9 million, a gain of 49.2% from ¥527.5 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 4.7% from 3.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 9.6% on an annual basis to ¥16.75 billion from ¥15.28 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 7.3% on an annual basis to ¥15.51 billion from ¥14.46 billion.

Reported net income rose 53.8% year over year to ¥798.5 million, or ¥25.08 per share, from ¥519.2 million, or ¥16.39 per share.
