ENGIE energizes 276-MW Kansas wind farm

ENGIE North America Inc. announced Sept. 26 that the 276-MW Solomon Forks Wind Facility in Thomas County, Kan., has reached commercial operation.

The Engie SA subsidiary also said the East Fork Wind Project in the same county as Solomon Forks is expected to become operational in spring 2020.

The Solomon Forks wind project consists of 105 wind turbines, while the East Fork wind facility will be composed of 72 turbines.

Combined, the two projects represent an investment of $650 million, ENGIE said in a news release.

Output of the wind facilities is contracted to T-Mobile US Inc., Target Corp., Brown-Forman Corp. and Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty.
