Citizens Inc. will not be able to submit its annual report on Form 10-K for the year ended Dec. 31, 2018, on time.

The company said more time is needed to evaluate certain items necessary for the audit of its financial statements and the assessment of its internal control over financial reporting related to the novation transaction that occurred in 2018.

Citizens plans to file its annual report with the SEC on or before April 2.
