Seria fiscal Q1 profit climbs 9.1% YOY

Seria Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 amounted to ¥21.72 per share, an increase of 9.1% from ¥19.92 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.65 billion, a gain of 9.1% from ¥1.51 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 5.7% from 5.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 11.0% year over year to ¥29.11 billion from ¥26.23 billion, and total operating expenses increased 11.3% from the prior-year period to ¥26.56 billion from ¥23.86 billion.

Reported net income increased 13.7% on an annual basis to ¥1.63 billion, or ¥21.52 per share, from ¥1.44 billion, or ¥18.92 per share.

As of Aug. 11, US$1 was equivalent to ¥102.12.
