BB&T ups dividend again under 2015 capital plan

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based BB&TCorp. increased its quarterly common stock dividend to 28 cents pershare as part of its 2015 capital plan.

The dividend, payable June 1 to stockholders of record as ofMay 13, represents an increase of approximately 3.7% over the company's previouslydeclared quarterly dividend of 27cents per share.

The BB&T board might consider another dividend increase effectivein the third quarter based on the company's 2016 capital plan.
