AlphabetInc. unit GoogleInc. ended an internal project to build a high-end stand-alonevirtual reality headset, Recode reported July 15, citing "sources familiarwith the plans."
The move comes as the company is shifting focus towardmobile VR, and the resources required for developers to create apps, servicesand games for supporting smartphones.
In May, Google showcased an Android-based virtual reality platform,called Daydream, at the Google I/O annual developer conference.
