PacifiCorp proposes irrigation, residential rate adjustments in Washington

PacifiCorp's Pacific Power division on March 6 filed an updated application with the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission proposing to implement a residential rate decrease for 10 months starting April 1. The filing also proposes to increase rates for irrigation customers.

The rate revision stems from the commission's approval of Pacific Power's proposal to implement a decoupling mechanism for its residential customers and most other customer groups.

Pacific Power submitted a rate adjustment filing Dec. 1, 2017, and recently updated its results. Average residential customers using approximately 1,200 kWh per month would see a decrease of about 1.6%, or $2.35, in their monthly bills. Meanwhile, average irrigation customers using approximately 4,000 kWh monthly would see an increase of about $12.60 per month.
