Origis Energy completes 52-MW Miss. solar facility

Project developer Origis Energy USA Inc. completed the 52-MW Sumrall II solar facility in Lamar County, Miss.

The solar project consists of 206,000 photovoltaic solar panels on 540 acres and began commercial operations in December 2017, according to a March 7 release. It sells power to Hattiesburg, Miss.-based Cooperative Energy, formerly known as the South Mississippi Electric Power Association.

The Origis Energy Ltd. subsidiary built, owns and operates the facility.
