TheOhio County Public SchoolsFCU has hired an attorney and is investigating an apparentembezzlement, CUToday.info reported March 30.
An assistantmanager caught discrepancies in the credit union's operating checking accountand notified the board. The board, in turn, alerted the state league, thereport said.
Accordingto the news resource, the Wheeling, W.Va.-based credit union has not releaseddetails on the amount of funds missing or the individual involved in thepossible embezzlement. All member accounts are fully insured and there are norisks to members, the report added.
The OhioCounty Public Schools FCU did not immediately respond to S&P GlobalMarketing Intelligence's request for comment or additional information on thematter.
