Colony Capital to invest $5B in Latin America

Los Angeles-based Colony Capital Inc. will invest about $5 billion in Latin America in the coming years via The Abraaj Group's private equity firm, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The real estate investment managing firm acquired the Dubai-based company's Latin American private equity platform in April and renamed it Colony Latam Partners, retaining its senior management.

Half of the amount is expected to be invested in Mexico, according to the publication.
