Superior Uniform Group Inc. said its normalized net income for the first quarter amounted to 14 cents per share, an increase of 59.9% from 9 cents per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $2.0 million, an increase of 71.6% from $1.2 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 4.3% from 2.9% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 13.0% year over year to $46.3 million from $41.0 million, and total operating expenses climbed 10.1% year over year to $43.0 million from $39.1 million.
Reported net income rose 67.0% from the prior-year period to $2.0 million, or 14 cents per share, from $1.2 million, or 9 cents per share.
