Apollo-backed Athene Holding to launch IPO

Athene HoldingLtd. has filed for an IPO.

The company filed to list class A common shares, with an initialproposed maximum aggregate price, used only to calculate the registration fee, of$100 million. The offering's underwriters will have the option of purchasing anundisclosed number of additional shares to cover overallotments. The registrationstatement did not disclose the underwriters and managers for the offering.

Current shareholders are selling an indeterminate number of sharesin connection with the offering. ApolloGlobal Management LLC, through its subsidiary Athene Asset Management,is a strategic partner of Athene. Apollo Life Re Ltd. owns 13.78% of Athene.

Athene intends to use the net proceeds for general corporatepurposes. It will not receive any proceeds from the sale of class A stock by theselling shareholders.

The company will apply to list its shares on the NYSE under thesymbol ATH.
