Walmart Inc. on Sept. 16 relaunched the fashion boutique label Scoop as an exclusive brand as it looks to spruce up its fashion business.
The relaunched Scoop brand has a curated collection of over 100 trend-inspired styles that are size-inclusive and priced between $15 to $65, the U.S. retail giant said.
Scoop was founded in 1996 by Stefani Greenfield and Uzi Ben-Abraham in the New York City and was known as "the ultimate closet" because clothes were sorted by color and style rather than by brand. The chain, however, shut down in 2016.
The retail giant said that it would carry forward the boutique fashion pioneer's legacy by offering "best-of-the-best" in fashion each season at affordable prices.
"We've been focused on establishing Walmart as a destination for fashion – a place where our customers can discover stylish items that are accessible. Adding Scoop to our portfolio makes it that much easier for our customers to look and feel their best," said Denise Incandela, head of fashion, Walmart U.S. eCommerce.
Over the past 18 months, Walmart has added more than 600 brands, including new exclusive brands from Sofia Vergara and Ellen DeGeneres and 150 premium fashion brands in a bid to strengthen its fashion offering.
Scoop products may now be purchased online through the Walmart website. Items are expected to become available in-store at select Walmart locations in early 2020, the company said.
