An updated resource estimate for Canadian Metals Inc.'s Langis silica property in Quebec showed a 217% increase in resources as compared to the 2016 model.
The property now hosts pit-constrained resources of 7.6 million tonnes at 98.96% silicon dioxide, or SiO2, in the measured and indicated category and 14 million tonnes at 98.97% SiO2 in the inferred category.
Canadian Metals said Dec. 20 that the estimate was based on data from drill programs conducted in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 1984 for geological contacts.
The company also noted that the property is fully permitted for the initial mining of 674,000 tonnes of pit-constrained resources.
