Novartis AG appointed Klaus Moosmayer chief ethics, risk and compliance officer, effective Dec. 1.
He will report to CEO Vas Narasimhan.
Moosmayer is the chief compliance officer of technology company Siemens AG.
Moosmayer succeeds Shannon Klinger as chief ethics risk and compliance officer of the Swiss drugmaker. Klinger was recently appointed group general counsel of Novartis.
The role of the chief ethics and compliance officer, reporting to the CEO, was created in 2014. On April 1, the role was further expanded to include oversight of all risk management functions and became a member of the executive committee of Novartis.
