Voltalia inks power supply agreement with French retailer Boulanger

Voltalia SA reached a deal to provide renewable energy to French retailer Boulanger Group for a 25-year period.

The power purchase agreement will support Voltalia's planned 5-MW solar plant in France, which will be commissioned before the end of 2022. The capacity of the power plant represent a minimum of 10% of Boulanger's consumption by the same year.

Boulanger has also committed to buy its electricity in priority from new wind and solar plants to be owned by Voltalia.

As part of its corporate social responsibility, the retailer is working to improve energy efficiency and has been able to reduce its consumption by store by over 27% since 2013. It also plans to source 100% of its energy from renewable sources, mainly hydro, with its existing supplier.
