Gabriel Resources Ltd. on Aug. 8 named Dragos Tanase as president and CEO. He has been the managing director of subsidiary Rosia Montana Gold Corp. for 10 years and will continue in that role.

Tanase replaces Jonathan Henry, who left in July to pursue other opportunities.

The company is pursuing a C$5.7 billion arbitration claim against the Romanian government, claiming the government treated it unfairly in halting development of the Rosia Montana gold project.
