AEP seeks bids for coal for H1'18

American Electric Power Co. Inc. has issued a request for proposals for the supply of coal to one or more generating stations, from January through June of 2018.

According to a Nov. 27 company news release, AEP is seeking up to 400,000 tons of Central Appalachian coal and up to 250,000 tons of Illinois Basin coal, both f.o.b. barge, and up to 1.7 million tons of Powder River Basin coal, f.o.b. rail.

Proposals must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Dec. 4 and should be emailed to aepfuelsrfp@aep.com or sent by U.S. mail to Chuck West's attention at One Riverside Plaza, 14th Floor, Columbus, OH 43215.
