The Medicines Co. named Christopher Visioli its treasurer and CFO.

Visioli was previously the company's senior vice president of financial strategy. He succeeds William O'Connor, who is retiring but will remain as an adviser through 2018.

Parsippany, N.J.-based Medicines Co. provides medicines for patients in acute and intensive care hospitals worldwide.
