Possiblechanges in the ECB's quantitative easing program would be a boon for Italy, International Financing Review reportedJuly 8.
Aspart of its QE program, the central bank buys up bonds as long as their yield ishigher than the deposit rate, the news outlet said. Since an increasing numberof bonds are therefore out of the ECB's reach, it may now decide to buy bondsbased on a country's outstanding debt, which would see its monthly purchases ofItalian debt soar by about 70%, IFRadded.
