Banco de Brasília names CFO; Banco do Nordeste appoints chairman

Aug. 20

* Banco do Brasil SA said it validated the dismissal of 2,367 employees under its workforce reduction program, amounting to about 2.5% of its workforce based on the company's total headcount of 96,168 at the end of June.

Aug. 19

* Banco do Nordeste do Brasil SA said its board accepted the resignation of Jeferson Luis Bittencourt as chairman and appointed Ricardo Soriano de Alencar as his replacement. The board also named Antônio Jorge Pontes Guimarães Júnior as director of finance and credit.

* As part of its digital transformation efforts, Banco de Chile informed labor unions that most employees will be retained, while those who do not fit into the new structure will be offered retirement packages.

* Banco Pan SA appointed Amos Genish as a director, replacing Eduardo Nogueira Domeque.

* Banco Nacional de Costa Rica named Jaime Murillo Víquez as its interim deputy general manager.

Aug. 15

* BRB-Banco de Brasília SA said Sergio de Jesus assumed the role of CFO and investor relations director.

* Banco ABC Brasil SA said it dismissed Christian Max Finardi Squassoni from the position of director on the bank's board.

* Bradesco Leasing SA - Arrendamento Mercantil said it appointed Frederico William Wolf as a director.

* Banco Bradesco SA promoted its regional directors Ademir Aparecido Correa Junior and José Augusto Ramalho Miranda to the position of departmental directors.

* Banestes SA - Banco do Estado do Espírito Santo said it rejigged directors. Chairman Estanislau Kostka Stein moved to director, and director Sergio Pereira Ricardo replaced him as chairman of the board. The bank also appointed José Amarildo Casagrande and Rogério Arthmar to its board of directors.

* Panama-based MMG Bank Corp. said its chairman, Eduardo Morgan Gonzalez, retired Aug. 12. Director Roberto Lewis replaced Gonzalez in the role.

Aug. 14

* Banco RCI Brasil SA said it approved the election of Francisco Javier Muñoz Bermejo as a director on the company's board. The bank also approved Enrico Rossini and Fabien Jean Michel Tournier as alternate board members. Gustavo de Souza Santos, who is currently a board member, will also serve as an alternate member of the board.
