Metallica Minerals Ltd. said Dec. 12 that it appointed Peter Turnbull as new chairman and independent nonexecutive director, effective immediately.

Turnbull replaces Barry Casson for the roles. Casson will retire from the company's board.

Turnbull currently serves as nonexecutive director of Karoon Gas Australia and the Governance Institute of Australia, and chairman of Calix Ltd. and Auxita Pty. Ltd.
