Apple appoints new India head

Apple Inc. has appointed Michel Coulomb as chief of the company's Indian operations, effective immediately, India's The Economic Times reported.

Coulomb's new designation follows the reported exit of Sanjay Kaul.

The company's head of emerging markets, Hugues Asseman, announced the appointment during a Dec. 18 conference in Goa, where the executive also confirmed Kaul's exit, according to the Dec. 19 report, citing two senior industry executives. Coulomb will report to Asseman under his new role.

Coulomb, who has been with Apple for more than 14 years, was previously the company's managing director for South Asia operations.
