United Technologies Corp. named John Faraci executive chairman of Carrier Corp., which is due to separate from the aerospace and defense company in 2020.

Faraci is a member of the United Technologies board.

The company also announced members of a new Carrier board, which becomes effective at the completion of Carrier's separation.

David Gitlin, who was previously named Carrier's president and CEO, will join the board, which will also include United Technologies director Jean-Pierre Garnier and independent directors John Greisch, Charles Holley, Michael McNamara, Michael Todman and Virginia Wilson.
