The president of Telewizja Polska SA proposed to create a joint TVchannel for Poland,Hungary, the Czech Republicand Slovakia, Broadband TV News reported May 2, citingWirtualne Media.
Jacek Kurski was appointed president of the public Polishbroadcaster in January.
The executive reportedly cited common interests andperspectives among the four Eastern European countries as bases for his suggestion.
The TVP president added that such a channel would bebroadcast in the English language and patterned after the likes of BBC World,France 24, RussiaToday and Al Jazeera.
