AIMCO files motion to stop Airbnb from brokering leases at 4 SoCal properties

Apartment Investment and Management Co., or AIMCO, along with four of the company's subsidiaries, filed a motion for a preliminary injunction in the U.S. District Court in the Central District of California as part of its ongoing dispute with Airbnb Inc.

The motion aims to stop Airbnb's brokering of short-term leases at four of AIMCO's properties in Southern California.

AIMCO said the move is aimed at alleviating the "irreparable harm" brought about by Airbnb's dealings to the company's apartment communities and their residents, as it awaits the final verdict on an earlier lawsuit meant to bar Airbnb from allegedly participating in the illegal subleasing of AIMCO's apartment homes.
