FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler said the agency does not plan toinvestigate Netflix Inc.'sthrottling of thevideo quality of its streaming service for AT&T Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc.'s wireless customers as itwas not in violation of any U.S. regulations, Reuters reported March 31.
Wheeler further said that the throttling fell "outside"of the FCC's net neutrality rules since the commission does not regulate "edgeproviders" or websites.
The news comes as AT&T executive James Cicconislammed Netflix forthrottling video quality for customers accessing its streaming service overAT&T or Verizon's wireless networks.
