The Asian unit of Fox Networks Group filed legal actions in Hong Kong and Bangkok against Bangkok Bank Public Co. Ltd., seeking more than $71 million related to the distribution of Fox's TV channels in Thailand, the company announced Dec. 14.
The 21st Century Fox Inc. subsidiary claims the bank failed to honor two payment guarantees it made for Thai pay TV operators GMM Grammy Public Co. Ltd. and CTH Public Co. Ltd. to cover digital TV channel licensing agreements.
Bangkok Bank has not complied with its guarantee obligations to Fox since late 2015, a Fox statement said.
