Kering SA on May 13 published its new animal welfare standards that ensures and verifies the humane treatment of animals across the group's supply chains.
The owner of brands including Gucci, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen said the first phase of its animal welfare standards includes detailed requirements for the treatment of cattle, calves, sheep and goats, as well as guidelines for slaughterhouses.
The Paris-based luxury goods maker said the standards are based on the latest scientific research, legislation, comparative standards, best management practices and guidelines from different sectors.
