Calpine closes purchase of North American Power and Gas

Calpine Corp. subsidiary Calpine Energy Services Holdco LLC completed its acquisition of North American Power Business LLC and North American Power and Gas LLC for an undisclosed sum.

Norwalk, Conn.-based North American Power and Gas is registered to supply electricity and/or natural gas in Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Texas, according to the company's website, which describes North American Power as one of the fastest-growing retail energy companies in the country.

The parties closed the transaction Jan. 17, according to a Jan. 26 FERC filing. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. (FERC Docket No. EC17-35)
