Maine insurer appeals court decision denying ACA risk corridor payments

Maine Community Health Options appealed a federal court decision denying funds the company argues it is owed by the federal government from the Affordable Care Act's risk corridor program, Maine Public reported.

The company maintains it is owed $23 million in back payments from the program structured to stabilize the insurance market.

The U.S. Court of Federal Claims ruled the company could not claim the money because Congress denied the use of public funds for the programs.
